Hi, I’m Mitch — a relaxed, natural and documentary-style wedding photographer based in Leicestershire, photographing weddings across the Midlands and beyond.

My photography journey actually started in a slightly unexpected place. While studying Forensic Science at university, I discovered photography through a forensic imaging module. I was fascinated by the challenge of capturing images in difficult conditions and, although photography took a bit of a back seat for a while, it came back into my life in 2018 after a trip to Exmouth.

With a Nikon Coolpix B500 and a Lightroom subscription, I started teaching myself landscape photography. What began as a hobby quickly became something I was completely hooked on. I spent years learning, practising and experimenting, gradually moving into different types of photography — from landscapes and wildlife to couples, families, events and, eventually, weddings.

Over the last few years, I've had the privilege of photographing weddings and capturing some incredibly important moments in people's lives. And honestly, that's what I love most about photography.

For me, wedding photography isn't about creating a day full of perfectly posed photographs. It's about capturing what actually happened — the nervous excitement, the laughs, the happy tears, the little moments between the big ones, and all the things you might not even realise are happening on the day.

My approach is relaxed and stress-free. I want you to enjoy your wedding day rather than spend it worrying about the camera. I'll give you a little direction when it's needed, but for the most part, I'll be there quietly observing and capturing things as they naturally unfold.

I'm also a big believer that being your photographer is about more than just taking photographs. I'm naturally friendly, approachable and always happy to help. If something needs doing, I'll do whatever I can to help out — whether that's calming a nervous bride or groom, helping find a missing buttonhole, rounding up guests for a photograph or simply being another pair of hands when things get a little hectic.

I love getting to know people and I'll happily mingle with your guests throughout the day. In fact, I like to think that by the end of the wedding, I feel more like one of your guests with a camera than someone who has just turned up to photograph you.

I think that's when the best photographs happen — when people forget the camera is there and simply enjoy themselves.

When I'm not photographing weddings, life is kept pretty busy by my two toddlers! Family is hugely important to me, and when we're not running around after the kids, we love getting out and exploring the UK together in our campervan. I think that love of family, adventure and making memories is probably another reason why I care so much about what I do.

There's something incredibly special about being trusted to document such an important day in someone's life. Knowing that, years from now, a photograph I've taken might bring back the exact feeling of a moment is something I never take for granted.
